POSITION SUMMARY:
Supporting Virginia Farm Bureau Federation Membership and Field Services Departments collaboratively in addition to sales activities of the Virginia Farm Bureau Products Division.
The Products Sales position is primarily responsible for:
* Increase sales in VFB Products Division by direct recruitment of dealers and increase participation of all customers. Must have a passion for sales and for creating innovative solutions for members and customers.
Product Sales
- Market products and programs to improve member participation and sales.
- Establish, train and service Farm Bureau dealers in assigned territories.
- Make recommendations to and assist the Director/Vice President in overall operation of the products Program.
- Handle warranty adjustments according to company policy.
- Recommend new products for inventory.
- Train dealer customers on all products and applications.
- Assist with collection of delinquent accounts from assigned dealers.
- Attending industry trade shows and events to represent products
- Coordinate with billing staff to ensure accurate invoicing.
- Achieve targeted sales goals.
- Build and maintain positive member and dealer relationships.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Collaborate with other VFBF and VFB Insurance departments & advisory committees
- Coordinate displays and exhibits at state and regional functions.
- Coordinate activities with state and county Farm Bureaus as needed.
- Review and make recommendations on program budget with department director.
- Evening and weekend events require the ability to work as needed from outside the office several times each year.
- Attend Products staff meetings/conference calls.
- Attend and support state Farm Bureau meetings as assigned.
- Report regularly to Director of Products Division.
- All other duties as assigned by the department head and the Vice President.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- College degree or equivalent work experience
- Previous sales/marketing experience
MINIMUM SKILL QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience implementing leadership development, organizational structure maintenance, marketing techniques and planning strategies;
- Agriculture industry knowledge and networks.
- High level of initiative and self-motivation
- Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills, and motivated to work independently without direct daily supervision;
- Excellent presentation skills; comfortable presenting in front of groups of any size
- Strong written competencies and use of MS Office programs and applications
- Proven customer focus.
- Proven dependability with attendance, punctuality, and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Positive attitude and exceptional leadership skills;
- Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record to meet company car requirements;
- Must be able to lift 70-80 pounds.
- Ability to work with various interest groups
- Flexibility, resourcefulness, enthusiastic and a high-energy motivator.
