POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for managing certificate of insurance requests, quoting and binding business for certain specific risks, online payment processing, utilizing the agency management system (Nexsure) for all client and policy input, including attachments, deliveries, and activities within the system; provide daily assistance to commercial and personal lines marketing specialists. Requires aptitude for computer systems, MS Office, basic accounting skills, and strong insurance knowledge in commercial lines, personal lines, excess and surplus lines, as well as an understanding of insurance agency practices

PRIMARY DUTIES

· Manages all requests for Certificates of Insurance from sales staff

· Assists agents and MSS(s) team with certificate requests and provides necessary instruction to ensure accuracy

· Coordinates incoming special event quote requests, completes quotes and binding

· Process online payments for bind orders and research discrepancies

· Reviews commercial lines downloads and processes downloads when necessary

· Provides clarification and training assistance to operations team with Nexsure system

· Ensures data integrity in all actions relating to policy data in the Nexsure system

· Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

· Maintain a solid understanding of departmental guidelines, systems, workflows, forms, product lines, and other materials needed to fulfill work assignments in accordance with qualitative and quantitative service standards

· Offer solutions/suggestions which help us better serve internal and external customers.

· Responsible for providing day-to-day support to brokering staff to exceed department, and corporate goals relating to underwriting profit, renewal retention, growth, customer service and agent relations; assist with daily mail if needed

· Manages and organizes account documentation (submissions, quotes, binders, endorsements, cancellations, invoices, spreadsheets); Match bind orders to quotes; work with broker/underwriter to resolve any discrepancies

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • All other duties as assigned by the Manager

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

    • Property & Casualty license required; Minimum 2-3 years of brokering support experience with proven successful experience working effectively with agents/brokers
    • Ability to work in a highly automated, paperless environment, including specialized software packages

MINIMUM SKILL QUALIFICATIONS

    • Ability to understand and communicate both orally and in written correspondence (i.e., emails, letters, etc.), and interpret abstract information
    • Accountable for maintaining confidential information
    • Knowledge of insurance markets and insurance rating procedures
    • Strong MS Office skills with an emphasis in Excel spreadsheets
    • High level of initiative, highly organized, excellent attention to detail
    • Ability to prioritize important and pressing tasks
    • Must be able to understand and analyze necessary components of insurance policies
    • Ability to make independent decisions per IAS guidelines with minimal supervision
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work extended hours when necessary, during peak times
    • Multi-Tasking in a high paced environment with high volume and high stress with a sense of urgency
    • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to perform other activities as assigned in a team environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Insurance experience with excess and surplus lines
    • Experience with issuance of Certificates of Insurance
